FOSTORIA — Alvin D. Risner, 78, rural of Fostoria, died at 10:03 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his residence surrounded by family.
Born April 13, 1938 in Carey, he was the son of the late Clay and Polly (Puckett) Risner. He married Isabelle Nye and they divorced. On March 14,1986, he married Charise Keckler and she survives in rural Fostoria.
He is survived by his chidlren: Lori (Stanley) Clay and Julie (Randy) McMichael both of Heflin, AL and Mitchell (Patty) Risner of Carey, three step-daughters: Tiffany (Brian) Roberts of Bradner, Amanda (Jason) Pearce of Anderson, SC, and Haley (Gary) Holland of Bloomdale, 12 grandchildren: Jenny, Alison, Samantha, Mitchell, Jessie, Dakota, Devin, Destinee, Havanna, Skylar, Carter, and Easton, four great-grandchildren: KayLeigh, Joshua, JazMyne, and AdryAnna, three brothers: Ronald (Terri) Risner and James (Rebecca) Risner both of Alvada, and Jack (Irene) Risner of Lima, three sisters: Faye Altman, Janice Hindall, and Judy (Gary) Cramner all of Findlay.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Ellis Risner and three sisters: Mary Ann Allison, Jane Risner, and Debra Winter, two infant sisters: Helen, and Josephine Risner, and a grandson.
A 1957 graduate of Vanlue High School, he retired from Honeywell after 30 years as a machine setter.
Alvin was a member of the NRA. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, trapshooting, and traveling out west, especially to Wyoming. He loved spending time with his family.
Family and friends will be received from 4 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME in Carey.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mike Keckler officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
