Lois Clark, age 89, of Findlay, Ohio passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at her daughter’s home, where she had resided since October of 2016. She was born on August 7, 1928 in Findlay to the late William and Mabel (Summerville) Gonyer. She married John Coup, Sr. and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1971. They had six children from this union which lasted 26 years.
Lois married Claude D. Clark on August 2, 1977 and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2000. Theirs was a happy and loving union. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Scott) Elliot of Findlay; son, James (Shirley) Coup of Yakima, Washington; step-daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Diebert, Barb Shuemaker, and Bev (Bob) Noel; 15 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Mae Miller of Florida, Donna Sharp of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mildred (Cecil) Leasure of Findlay; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by sons: John Jr., William Richard, and Terrence L. Coup; daughter, Phyllis Baker; daughter-in-laws: Angela Coup, Jane Coup, and Pamela Yates; sons-in-law: Ronald Baker Sr. and Tony Reichley Sr.; step-son: Clifford Clark; and her sisters: Margaret Sue Gonyer and Barbara Frisbee.
Lois was a loving wife and mother with a kind and gentle soul. She loved to talk and visit with everyone. In the 70’s she worked at Wilson’s Sandwich Shop; after that, she went into child care and cared for many children in her home, whom have all since grown, and still claim, and call her “grandma Lois”. These were the “happy times” in her life. She was a doting grandmother and nurtured each child in her own loving way, always with faith and the love and joy of God in her heart and mind.
Lois now wears her glorious crown in Heaven, and rejoices in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, with all of her family and loved ones gone before. For this, we are thankful, grateful, and happy. We hold her in our hearts on Earth with love, everlasting. “God himself, holds her soul” eternally.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 12 – 8 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay where a funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2019 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice. A special thanks to the nurses and staff who cared for Lois, her neighbors, Joe and Ruth, the Sierras and Fletchers. She loved you all like family. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.coldrencrates.com.
“My mother wears her crown today.
From Earthly trials she slipped away.
The Lord he came, embraced her tight
and carried her into his light.
Such a gentle, warm, kind being,
sits now with Angels, as they sing
All her life she lived to be
part of Heaven eternally.
Faith deep within her loving heart
covered each and every part,
of each and every day she had;
the easy, hard, the good, the bad.
So, without a doubt, I can honestly say,
‘Mom wears her crown in Heaven today.'”
