The Lord called his faithful servant, Richard D. “Dick” Bibler, home on Sunday, April 15, 2018. He was born on June 20, 1937 in Findlay to the late Don O. and Opal I. Bibler. Dick married Kay Hilkert and they divorced. He then married Marsha Dyer and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2011. Dick then married Maria Shrider and she survives in Findlay. Mr. Bibler is also survived by his children: Brian (Sherry) Bibler, Ronda Hilkert, Richard (Chris) Bibler, Jr. all of Findlay, Nikki (Ted) Shipley of CO, six step-children: Barbara (Dennis) Zimmerman of Findlay, Suzanne (Gene) Powell of Portsmouth, OH, Mark (Carol) Shrider of Findlay, Cindy Shrider of Columbus, Debbie Musgrave of Findlay, Marcia (Dee) Falks of TN and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his daughter Elaine Ann Bibler and his sister, Frances Hauenstein. Dick served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, serving two nonconsecutive tours. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 30 years. Dick was an active mentor in various organizations including Alcoholics for Christ, Celebrate Recovery and the ADAMHS board. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS. Dick was also an active member of the First United Brethren Church and served as a church camp counselor at camp ECCO for 21 years. He also enjoyed visiting various area nursing homes to entertain residents with his guitar. Dick was well known for his beautiful flower gardens at his home, and spent much of his time there after his retirement. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the First United Brethren Church, 629 Rector Ave. A private burial will be held at a later date.
