Almira Oswald

Almira Oswald, 88, of Findlay, passed away at 3:33 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Fox Run Manor. She was born on September 26, 1929, in Providence, RI to the late John and Christina Viola (Miller) Ray. She married Joseph E. Oswald, Sr. on February 16, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1996.

Almira is survived by her sons: Robert (Deb) Oswald of Findlay and Steven (Gina) Oswald of AL; her daughters: Joanne Vanco of Findlay and Carol (Charlie) Ray of Findlay; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her sons: Francis Ray and Joseph Oswald, Jr.; a great-great-grandchild; her siblings: Stanley, Charlie, Jackie, Bobby and Alice; and her son-in-law, Carrol “C.T.” Vanco.

Almira retired from Superior Cleaners in Findlay. She was a faithful member of the Bible Methodist Church, Findlay, where she was affectionately known as the candy lady.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Pastor Chris Cravens officiating. Burial will be in Benton Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
