Fire Damages Building At Ohio Industrial Complex

MENTOR, Ohio (AP) — More than 60 firefighters from 15 departments have battled a fire that caused extensive damage to a building at an industrial complex in Mentor.

The Plain Dealer in Cleveland reports (bit.ly/1f8cLAi) that no one was working at Onward Coatings Co. when alarms began going off just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, but that employees at an adjoining business, Buyers Products, were evacuated.

None of the firefighters or workers from Buyers, which manufactures truck and trailer components, suffered injuries.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in just over an hour. Mentor Deputy Fire Chief Bob Searles says the cause of the fire is not immediately known.

Onward Coatings applies chrome finishes to products. It is one of several businesses at the industrial complex.
