COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY’-sik) is scheduled to deliver remarks at the Ohio Newspaper Association’s convention in Columbus.
The first-term Republican is up for re-election in November, and he won’t face a primary challenger this spring. Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County Executive Ed FitzGerald has been running for the Democratic nomination since early last year. Both will see at least one third-party challenger —Libertarian Charlie Earl.
Kasich, to speak Thursday morning, has appeared before the industry trade group and taken questions in previous years.
Past speakers at the convention have also included celebrity zookeeper Jack Hanna and Vice President Joe Biden.
