OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Javon McCrea scored 25 points — moving into second place on Buffalo’s all-time scoring list — and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Bulls beat Miami (Ohio) 75-62 Wednesday night.
McCrea made 12 of 14 field goals, including a layup with 12:41 left in the first half which moved him past Jim Horne — who scored 1,833 points from 1951-55 — and gave Buffalo 17-8 lead. McCrea now sits 51 points behind Rasaun Young, who scored 1,908 career points.
The Bulls (14-7, 8-3 Mid-American) never trailed and out-rebounded the RedHawks 40-25.
Will Felder’s jumper with 7:25 to play pulled Miami (9-13, 5-6) within three, but McCrea scored nine points during an 11-4 spurt that gave Buffalo a 70-60 lead with 1:19 left.
Jaryd Eustace paced the RedHawks with 17 points. Felder added 13 and eight boards.
Joshua Freelove scored 16 in the win.
