BATH, Ohio (AP) — A national animal welfare group says it has abandoned the idea of turning serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer’s childhood home in Ohio into a vegan restaurant.
Moira Colley, spokeswoman for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, tells The Akron Beacon Journal ( ) the group “won’t be able to move forward” with the proposal to convert the large northeast Ohio house into a restaurant called Eat For Life: Home Cooking.
The idea was floated by PETA last week after it was announced that the house near Akron was again up for sale.
The real estate agent, Richard Lubinski of Stouffer Realty, said Tuesday he was not surprised.
Given PETA’s history of publicity stunts, he said, “it doesn’t take a rocket scientist” to determine it probably wasn’t a serious offer.
