School Rankled By Students Cutting Trees As Prank

CALEDONIA, Ohio (AP) — Officials at a central Ohio high school aren’t too happy with the students responsible for this year’s senior prank: the cutting down of two dozen trees outside the school.

Faculty and students at River Valley High School in Caledonia arrived at school on Thursday to find that someone took a chain saw to the trees, which had been planted over the years in memory of people associated with the Marion County school.

At least two male students have been interviewed, and officials say vandalism charges are expected.

Students at the school said the trees were cut as part of the class of 2014′s senior prank. The trees were between a year and 11 years old.

About 500 students attend the school, about 50 miles north of Columbus.
