POMEROY, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s attorney general wants the public’s help with a 22-year-old unsolved homicide in southeastern Ohio.
Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking for information about the fatal shooting of 57-year-old Ronald Pohl (POHL) in Meigs County on May 9, 1992. Authorities say a search party found the Dayton man in the woods in Salem Township where he had been hunting turkey.
Pohl’s son says his father and brother were hunting separately in the woods when the brother heard gunshots.
Authorities say the search party found Pohl had been struck by buckshot in the back at close range.
DeWine says anyone with information about Pohl’s death should contact the Meigs County sheriff’s office or the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Tips also can be left through the Ohio attorney general’s website.
