Cleveland Chief Asks For Help To Solve Shootings

CLEVELAND (AP) — Cleveland’s police chief called on witnesses to come forward to help make arrests in four separate fatal shootings over the holiday weekend.

Chief Calvin Williams called a news conference Tuesday to urge witnesses to “stand up and say something” after an unusual amount of violence in the city claimed four lives over the Memorial Day weekend.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group ( ) says it started Saturday night when 24-year-old Myron Anderson was shot in the head and died later at a hospital. It continued Sunday night when three people were killed in separate shootings in a four-hour period.

Williams says witnesses who come forward will be protected.

The city has said it is increasing the number of officers on the street this summer.
