Felon Gets Six-year Prison Sentence For Guns

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — A felon has been sentenced in Connecticut to six years in prison for possessing guns.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says 33-year-old Ernie Negroni, also known as “King Omega,” was sentenced Wednesday in Bridgeport.

Negroni, a former resident of Mansfield, Ohio, and Connecticut, pleaded guilty to possessing two firearms by a felon. Authorities say he sold two guns for $900 last year in Hartford to an individual working with law enforcement.

Prosecutors say Negroni is believed to have acquired guns at gun shows in Ohio and sold them in Connecticut without regard to who would use them or for what purpose. They say he’s an acknowledged member of the Almighty Latin King Nation.

Negroni’s attorney urged a three-year sentence, saying his client suffered extraordinary abuse as a child and believes his criminal history was overstated.
