BLANCHESTER, Ohio (AP) — The father of an 8-year-old Ohio boy who skipped church and was found alone at a store has been charged with child endangering.
Blanchester police say the boy apparently walked on a busy highway to a Family Dollar Store about a half-mile from his home on April 30.
Police Chief Scott Reinbolt says 31-year-old Jeffrey Williamson told police his son went missing around 5:30 p.m. that night but he assumed the boy had gotten on an evening church bus with four siblings. Reinbolt says Williamson told police he didn’t watch them board the bus.
Williamson is scheduled in Clinton County Municipal Court on July 10. There’s no phone number listed for him, and court records don’t show an attorney for him.
