COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A judge has ruled that a 16-year-old central Ohio boy will be tried as an adult in a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded two days before Christmas.

Franklin County Juvenile Court Judge Elizabeth Gill transferred the teen’s case to adult court on Tuesday, ruling that he cannot be rehabilitated in the juvenile system.

The Columbus Dispatch ( ) reports that the boy was 15 when he was accused of fatally shooting 26-year-old Marvin Ector and wounding 31-year-old Darnell Gammon as they sat in a car at a gas station in north Columbus on Dec. 23.

Two witnesses identified the teen as one of the shooters during a juvenile court hearing in April. Prosecutors say the shooting was captured on gas station surveillance video.
