Police: 2nd Man Has Died After Cincinnati Shooting

CINCINNATI (AP) — Cincinnati police say a second man found wounded after a gun battle at a street intersection has died.

Police say 18-year-old Tywaune Thomas was hospitalized in critical condition after the shooting Tuesday afternoon and succumbed to his injuries Wednesday.

Twenty-one-year-old Antwon Ward was found dead on the scene from apparent gunshot wounds when police responded to the shooting Tuesday.

Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell told WLWT-TV ( ) that the shooting was gang-related and that he believed it was in retaliation for a separate shooting in the same area that occurred last weekend. He says the street has been plagued with violence and police plan to step up their presence in the area.
