SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — An expansion by Dole Food Company is expected to mean nearly 140 new jobs in western Ohio.
State and regional development officials on Monday announced the $9 million project. Dole says plant capacity is being increased in Springfield to add production of its baby spinach and spring mix packaged vegetables. It’s estimated the jobs will mean $3.2 million in additional payroll.
The Dole expansion was among nine projects around the state that the Gov. John Kasich administration says will create 586 jobs. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved assistance for the development projects at its monthly meeting.
