FRANKLIN (AP) — A 15-year-old southwest Ohio girl has been arrested after fellow students reported that she threatened a mass shooting at her high school.
Police arrested the teen on Tuesday afternoon after a group of students at Franklin High School in Warren County told authorities that she wanted to “to do a mass school shooting and end it with suicide by cop.”
A news release from police says the girl is being held on a charge of inducing panic. It’s a felony because it allegedly took place on school grounds.
Schools officials credit the students with coming forward after hearing the threat, but they don’t believe the girl would have carried out the attack.
It wasn’t clear when the girl would appear in court.
