WERE HAZARDOUS CROSSROADS STUDIED?
In response to The Courier’s View (June 4) about stoplight cameras, the intersections in Findlay at which supporters once proposed cameras had 35 mph speed limits and short yellow lights.
If the justification is to reduce accidents, was a study done to see how much accident reduction would occur by adding one to two seconds to the yellow light without the cameras?
I personally measured the yellow-light time at two of the three intersections several years ago and presented the data to City Council.
I don’t recall hearing of a study or seeing a lengthening of the yellow light at any of those intersections.
