Police Department

Charges were pending Sunday against a Wharton resident who admitted kicking his brother’s parked car at 1500 N. Main St.

Drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics were seized from a car stopped Monday on North Main Street.

A Deshler dude was cited for having weed Monday in the 800 block of West Trenton Avenue.

A North Cory Street man was issued a trespass warning for 334 Garfield Ave. on Monday.

A Fostoria fellow was charged Monday with driving under the influence on Blanchard Street.

Sheriff’s Office

A Findlay motorist was arrested Saturday for driving while intoxicated, thanks to Captain Morgan, after her Toyota Prius ran over a mailbox and into a ditch off Hancock County 180 in Marion Township.

Juvenile Court


From the public records of the Hancock County Juvenile Court:

Rachel Huddleston of Findlay, John Chewning of McComb, Angel Gonzales of Findlay, and Carli Maldonado of Findlay were all sentenced to six months in the Hancock County jail and $1,000 fines for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The sentences will be suspended if the defendants comply with all court orders.

Coroner Rulings


From the public records of Hancock County Coroner Dr. Mark Fox:

Adam Lee Smallwood, 40, of Mobile, Alabama, died Feb. 25. Cause of death: heart disease. Final ruling: natural.

Jerell Scruggs, 4 weeks, of Risingsun, died March 10. Cause of death: choking due to unsafe sleep environment. Final ruling: accident.
