U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, toured the new Hancock Hotel this morning, after having stayed Monday night there and having a Mancys steak for dinner.
Honestly, Im not a big steak eater, he said, then raised his eyebrows, but it was awesome. It was really good.
Portman, R-Ohio, praised the $20-million hotel and Marathon Petroleum Corp.
Its just a great commitment to the city that Marathon was willing to make the investment, he said. Its more jobs but it also creates more economic activity in the city. Its an anchor for other shops and retail.
Portman cited several organizations and groups which have held events at the hotel in the few weeks since it opened in Findlays downtown.
Its kind of become a community gathering place, he said.
