Findlay school board on Tuesday accepted a three-year, $275,000 grant from the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation to support the Findlay City Schools preschool program.
The grant will support free and reduced preschool tuition for qualifying families, as well as general preschool operations.
It provides $100,000 in each of the first two years and $75,000 in the third year. The money is from the foundations Madeleine Thomas Schneider Fund.
The community foundation and the United Way of Hancock County provided a total of $640,000 over the past two years for preschool programs in both Findlay and Hancock County schools.
The United Way is continuing its preschool support, Treasurer Mike Barnhart noted after the meeting.
The United Way board awarded $145,000 for Hancock County preschool scholarships at its March meeting.
