Four people were injured Monday night in a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hancock County 140 and U.S. 224, west of Findlay, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Chad Mitsch, 37, of Portage, one of the drivers, was taken by Life Flight medical helicopter to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, the sheriff’s office said.

Taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital were Jensen Hiegel, 19, of Findlay, another driver; Zakkary Stiles, 17, of Rawson, the third driver; and his passenger, Zachary Tinman, 16, of Findlay, the sheriff’s office said.

Another passenger, Carson Houck, 16, of Rawson, was not injured.

The sheriffs office said Mitsch was northbound on County 140 in a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander when he ran into the rear of a 2004 Ford Escape about 9:59 p.m. The Ford, driven by Stiles, was stopped in traffic at a red light, the sheriff’s office said.

The collision pushed the Ford into the rear of a 2017 Jeep Wrangler driven by Hiegel, who was also stopped in traffic.

The crash remained under investigation early today.

Assisting at the accident scene were the Liberty Township Fire Department, Hanco Ambulance, and two towing services, R&A and Dick’s.
