A Putnam County man who went missing while on a medical furlough from the county jail is back in custody.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says deputies have located Donald Schulte. The sheriff’s office also thanked people who offered information about where Schulte might be.
The jail released Schulte, 24, around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday with a GPS monitoring device. He was going to ride with a parent to a doctor’s appointment in Defiance. Around noon Wednesday, the GPS monitor gave a tampering warning, and it was removed in the area of U.S. 127 and U.S. 24 in Paulding County.
Schulte was being held at the Putnam County jail after being indicted for failure to register as a sex offender, a third-degree felony, and theft, a fifth-degree felony.
