Michael Swope has been promoted to lieutenant in the Findlay Police Department’s Special Services Division, which oversees the dispatch center, records, training, and the officers in the property, crime prevention, and the court officer positions.

He was sworn in today by interim Mayor Ron Monday.

He has been a sergeant since December 2011. Swope was hired in 1995 as a full-time officer in the patrol division. He has also been a K-9 handler, a member of the Crisis Management Team, and a vice narcotics detective in the METRICH Unit.

He previously worked for the Pemberville Police Department and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

Swope is a graduate of North Baltimore High School and Owens Community College. He has an associate degree in law enforcement.
