MOUNT BLANCHARD — A Mount Blanchard man was killed Monday afternoon in a farming accident in a field southwest of Mount Blanchard, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported.

According to the sheriff’s office, Christopher Farver, 44, of Mount Blanchard, was working on a piece of farm machinery in a field off Delaware Township 152, east of Hancock County 183, at 3:57 p.m. when he was struck by an implement being pulled by a John Deere tractor.

The tractor was driven by Leo Smalley, 77, of Wharton, according to the sheriff’s office.

Farver was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office reported.

Assisting at the scene were the Delaware Township Fire Department and Hanco EMS.
