About 3,600 American Electric Power customers in Findlay are without power during a planned outage that started before 3 a.m. today.
The company’s website says the outage is expected to end by 5 a.m.
The outage appears to be in the north and northwestern parts of Findlay.
The company said it is transferring its entire electric load from a substation on West Melrose Avenue to another substation.
This outage is the second step in the substation improvement. All load is being dropped from the station for about two days and another outage will take place to restore the load.
AEP said it notified city customers who would be affected by the outage with automated calls.
