The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for Friday and Saturday for Hancock County and all surrounding counties.

The watch will be in effect from noon Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Heat indices from 105 degrees to as high as 112 degrees are possible both afternoons, according to the weather service.

“High temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible,” the weather service said.

50 North in Findlay will be open as a cooling station 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. People of all ages are welcome.
