DELPHOS — Motorists from Fort Jennings and Delphos were injured in a head-on crash Friday night on Ohio 309, east of Delphos in Allen County, the Lima post of the State Highway Patrol reported early Saturday.
Katherine Buettner, 53, the driver of one car, and her passenger, Keith Buettner, 53, both of Fort Jennings, suffered minor injuries and were taken by Delphos EMS to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, the state patrol reported.
Joseph Gossman, 26, of Delphos, the driver of the second car, was seriously injured, while a passenger in his car, Olivia Gossman, 28, of Delphos, suffered minor injuries, the patrol said. Both were taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center.
The patrol said Joseph Gossman was driving a 2001 Honda Accord west on Ohio 309 about 7 p.m. when the Honda went left of center and collided head-on with an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Katherine Buettner.
The Chevrolet then ran off the right side of the road and overturned, the patrol said.
Drug impairment by Joseph Gossman is suspected to be a factor in the crash, the patrol said.
The crash remained under investigation early Saturday.
