Hancock County Commissioner Mark Gazarek said Monday he will not seek a third term in the 2020 elections.
Gazarek had not indicated his intentions prior to a story being published Monday about the filing deadline for primary election candidates. He previously said he had not decided whether to run again.
His term ends Dec. 31, 2020.
William Bateson, of Arlington, has indicated he will seek Gazarek’s seat on the three-member board. Commissioners serve a four-year term.
