Reaching Women, an annual event dedicated to providing Christian fellowship to women, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
The nonprofit, interdenominational outreach organization seeks to provide spiritual growth and Christian fellowship to women of all ages and backgrounds through a one-day annual seminar. This year’s conference is titled “Empowered by Grace” and will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 27 at Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
The keynote speaker is Angie Smith, who writes the blog “Bring the Rain.” Smith’s blog began as the story of her fourth daughter’s brief life and became an opportunity to combine her greatest passions: helping to heal people’s hearts and writing. Her husband is Todd Smith, lead singer of the Christian contemporary band Selah. Angie co-wrote the song “I Will Carry You,” and authored a book by the same name.
Selah will serve as the seminar’s praise and worship team. The nationally recognized trio has sold more than 4 million units, with eight No. 1 singles including “You Raise Me Up” and “Wonderful Merciful Savior.” A Friday night Selah concert will also be held, beginning at 6 p.m.
Conference tickets are $40, with an optional $8.50 lunch ticket available. General admission for the Friday night concert is $15, or $40 for a VIP ticket that includes reserved seating in the first two rows and a meet and greet with Selah. Combo tickets are $75 for a VIP concert ticket/conference; or $50 for general admission/conference.
