ARCADIA — Arcadia United Methodist Church is partnering with Cookbook Publishers to create a keepsake cookbook that captures family and friends’ recipes so they can be passed on from generation to generation. To submit a recipe(s) for the cookbook, email by June 2. To reserve a cookbook, email or call 419-722-0882. The cost is to be determined but will range between $12 and $15. Delivery will be on or before Oct. 1. The cookbooks are sponsored by The Arcadia United Methodist Women, and all proceeds will benefit the church and local charities.

First Lutheran

First Lutheran Church continues the observation of the 2019 Year of Scripture with the one-year read of the Bible, as well as the Sermon on the Mount Bible study during the Sunday school hour between 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. services. The church will also celebrate its musicians this week by honoring the handbell choir during the second service. The ringers will play “America the Beautiful” and other patriotic and religious melodies arranged by Lloyd Larson. The OWLS of will hear a presentation by Nichole Coleman, executive director of Hancock County Veterans Service, at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Her presentation, “Combat Boots and Lace,” will feature her experiences during her seven years in the U.S. Air Force, including tours in Desert Storm and Bosnia. The speech will follow a potluck supper which begins at 5 p.m.

Gilboa UM

GILBOA — The Memorial Day service at Gilboa United Methodist Church, 102 Franklin St., Gilboa, will be conducted by members of the Gilboa and Pandora American Legions. The service will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, with a chicken barbecue, sponsored by the Legion, at 11:30. Dinner tickets are $8 each, available from any Legion member or at the door.

Redeemer Lutheran

Redeemer Lutheran Church LCMC, 1009 Blanchard Ave., will host worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with adult Bible study beginning at 9:15. The summer schedule will be in effect from June 9 through Sept. 8, with summer worship beginning at 9:30. Children’s Sunday school and adult fellowship will follow.

TGMA Gospel Music

TGMA Gospel Music Promotions will present gospel singing and dinner June 1 at the Southside Family Restaurant, 3050 S. Main St. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m., followed by singing from 6-8. featuring New Presence, Sandi & Kaylene and The Seekers. Call 419-934-5456 for information.

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran

JENERA — Trinity Lutheran School’s graduation will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., Jenera. Jacob William Miles is the class speaker. Additional class members include Zander Steven Mays and Brandon Pierce Stuckey. The class motto is Philippians 4:13, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Class colors are mint green and gray, and the class flower is the rose. Special music will be by the students in the third and fourth grades playing hand chimes. Preservice will include “I Am Jesus’ Little Lamb” and “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow.” The offertory will be an arrangement of “Jesus Loves Me.” Students in kindergarten through eighth grade will sing “The Path.” There will be a regular service at 8 a.m., with Bible classes and Sunday school beginning at 9:20. FOSTORIA — Jonathan White will perform a free concert at 6 p.m. June 8 at Trinity United Brethren Church, Fostoria. White has been invited to sing at the Grand Ole Opry and for the Bill Gaither Homecoming Concert Series, and at churches throughout Ohio.
