College First Church of God begins a new Sunday morning schedule on Father’s Day. Traditional/blended worship services will take place at 9 and 11 a.m. in the main sanctuary, 1100 N. Main St., while the contemporary service begins at 10 a.m. at the Winebrenner TLB auditorium at the University of Findlay, 950 N. Main St. Interim Senior Pastor the Rev. Don Dennison will speak at all three services. This week the June series, “Imagine the Church,” will feature Scripture from Ephesians 5:25-33 with the Apostle Paul describing the church as “the bride” of Christ. Children’s ministry for preschool through fifth-graders will have Sunday school classes at 9 and 11 a.m. at the church and 10 a.m. at Winebrenner with nursery care for birth through 2 years old at both locations. Youth Sunday school class for sixth- through 12th-graders will will be held at 9 a.m. in room 115 at the church. Adult classes include an 8:30 a.m. session at Winebrenner in room 152. There are six adult classes at the main church to choose from at 9:30 and 10 a.m. The College First Family Faith Expedition, “Roar,” will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday with activities for the entire family. Bar soap is being collected to distribute as part of the pantry. Donations may be dropped off at the church office. Casual worship continues at First Lutheran Church this first Sunday after Pentecost with the Service of the Word and familiar hymns selected by the congregation earlier in the spring. The church council will provide Dad’s Day Doughnuts as part of the coffee fellowship between services which are the summer schedule hours of 8:30 and 10 a.m. On Mondays this month, the Monday Morning Ladies Bible Study will meet in the church lounge at 10:30 a.m. All women are welcome. A new members’ class will meet at 7 p.m. June 19. New members will be received on June 23.
A Gospel concert will be held today at the Lighthouse, 10055 U.S. 224 W. Dinner by donation starts at 5 p.m., followed by singing at 6. Sharing their music ministries will be Work in Progress, the Southern Aires, Redeeming Love and Randy Long. A love offering will be taken for the singers. Attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to donate.
CAREY — The annual Our Lady of Consolation Festival will be held from 4-11 p.m. today on the school grounds, 401 Clay St. Special events include the Judy Hall Memorial Car Show from 4-7; kids’ games and inflatables from 4-10 p.m.; and a variety of entertainment, including Becky’s School of Dance and the Care competition cheerleaders. Live music featuring Three Streets Over will perform in the beer garden from 7-11 p.m. There is a $5 charge for the concert. A silent auction ends at 9 p.m., and a $1,000 grand prize drawing will be held at 10 p.m. Admission to the festival is free. Proceeds benefit OLC School.
St. Andrew’s UM
St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church will host a community dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The meal includes sloppy joes, pasta salad, baked beans, tossed salad, fruit and cookies. Attendees are asked to use the West Crawford Street entrance.
St. Paul Lutheran
JENERA — St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9340 Township Road 32, Jenera, will welcome new members and recognize fathers on Holy Trinity Sunday this week. Traditional services will be held at 7:50 and 9 a.m., followed by small group studies for all ages at 10:15 a.m. Contemporary worship begins with praise songs at 11:15 a.m.
Zion United Methodist Church, 9009 Ohio 12, will host Yee-Haw! vacation Bible school Monday through Wednesday. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by activities from 6-8 p.m. Register at the door.
