First Presbyterian

On the first Sunday after Christmas, First Presbyterian Church continues to celebrate the spirit of the season with a 9:30 a.m. sermon titled “The Christmas Story Continues,” delivered by guest preacher the Rev. Dr. Richard Merrick. Age-specific worship programming will be offered for children. The church is at 2330 S. Main St.

St. Andrew’s UM

St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church will present “A Service of Lessons and Carols” at the 9 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday services. The services will retell the story of Christ the Light coming into the world. Worship via livestream at saumcfindlay.org or on the church Facebook page, or at 9 a.m. on WFIN.

St. Paul Lutheran

JENERA — There will be no 7:50 a.m. Sunday service at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9340 Township Road 32, Jenera. The 9 a.m. service will include the singing of Christmas carols chosen by the congregation. Small-group studies for all ages begin at 10:15 a.m., followed by praise worship at 11:15.

Trinity Lutheran

Trinity Lutheran Church, 935 W. Bigelow Ave., will celebrate the first Sunday of Christmas with Holy Communion and a service of lessons and carols at 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. Sunday.

Trinity Lutheran, Jenera

JENERA — Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., Jenera, will welcome seminarian Dan Sprain as a guest preacher at Sunday’s 8 and 10 a.m. services. During the Sunday school time beginning at 9:20, Sprain will give a presentation about Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, where he is in his second year of studying to become a pastor in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Sprain is married to the former Lana Schmitzer and is the son-in-law of Pastor Al and Ruth Schmitzer of Arlington. The Rev. Matt Nowak will lead the New Year’s Eve service at 7 p.m., and the Rev. Al Schmitzer will lead the New Year’s Day service beginning at 9:30 a.m. The theme will be “Happy New Year with the Lord.”
