First Lutheran Church will celebrate the second Sunday of Christmas with the Rev. Christian Dittmar preaching at both the 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday services. Sunday school for children and adults resumes at 9:30. The senior choir will provide special music, “Shine, Jesus, Shine,” arranged by Jack Schrader and directed by Jane Eakin, accompanied by Miriam Gibson. The church will host a Prayer Retreat based on the film “The War Room” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 25. This event is sponsored by Thrivent Financial and the church evangelism team. Register by Jan. 19. The church will host this week’s community dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday featuring a menu of chicken and noodles, green beans, fresh fruit, homemade salads and desserts. The public is welcome to attend.
First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., continues its celebration of the miracle of the birth of Christ at 9:30 a.m. Sunday by recognizing the Epiphany of the Lord. The Rev. Jessie Commeret will deliver the sermon “The Gift of the Epiphany.” Children can participate in the celebration through age-appropriate programming.

“Fit for a King” is the theme for this week’s worship services at 9 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. Holy Communion will be served at both services. Wednesday evening activities resume Jan. 8 with Dinner Together from 5-6:20 p.m.; and Moms in Faith, Kids Praise and youth activities from 5-5:45.
