Mark your calendar for 4/19 to celebrate the 419!

The Findlay Courier, 106.3 The Fox and presenting sponsor Hancock County Convention and Visitors Bureau invite all who live and work in the 419 area code to come together and celebrate our great community.

The April 19 party will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts. It will feature free food, a kids’ fun area, and a chance to win free T-shirts, goodie bags and raffle prizes.

There will also be a Facebook Live stream by Social Findlay and a live radio broadcast by The Big Kahuna.

And, because 419 isn’t limited to just Findlay, there will be special offers from dozens of organizations and businesses throughout northwest Ohio. The Courier, for example, will offer a six-month subscription special for $41.90.

The fun is free to all those attending, though participants are asked to bring a canned good or a small monetary donation for a local food pantry.

Kari Zellner, manager of The Courier’s advertising department, notes that in its second annual observance, 419 Day falls on Good Friday, when many local schools are on spring break.

“We expect this year’s response to be even bigger, with more families having the opportunity to attend,” she says.

The 419 brand has grown significantly since the time of its inaugural party — it even launched an expansive social media presence.

Discover 419 highlights steals and deals on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, along with community organizations, retailers and individuals making a difference here in the 419.

A Discover 419 magazine launched in June 2018 as a monthly insert to The Courier. The print edition features a local cover story, along with information on upcoming events in the area and advertisements and coupons from local businesses. It also highlights two “Humans of Findlay,” as told by photographer and Humans founder Dave Morrow.

The edition is distributed around the first of each month via The Courier and The Review Times, and in The AdVantage, which is mailed to over 5,000 homes in the 45840 zip code.

Allegra also prints 419 logo apparel, including T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies. All are available for purchase inside The Courier and Allegra office at 701 W. Sandusky St.
