Todd James, executive director of the American Red Cross North Central Ohio Chapter, is joining the ongoing Red Cross water emergency relief efforts in Flint, Michigan.

James will be serving as the manager of public affairs, overseeing the public affairs team’s work distributing information on Red Cross relief services to residents and local media.

This is James’ second deployment to Flint. He traveled there Jan. 8 and 9 to help establish the Red Cross’ operational response.

Teams comprised of American Red Cross volunteers, city, county and state personnel and volunteers are distributing water and water resources to residents of the city. Sites have also been set up at fire stations in Flint where residents can pick up water.

More than 77,700 cases of water, 69,700 water filters and 16,600 water testing kits have been distributed to Flint residents, both at water resource sites and by response teams.
