The Arts Partnership is now accepting audition registrations for the spring semester of the Hancock County Children’s Choir.

The choir is a community-based treble voice children’s chorus open to all children in second through sixth grades in the Hancock County area. Any child with an unchanged voice who can commit to rehearsal times from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Mondays is welcome to audition.

The first rehearsal is March 7.

Auditions for new members will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, 200 W. Main Cross St. Those auditioning need to sign up for a 20-minute audition slot. To register, visit and sign up through the online form.

The program’s mission is to provide an enriching experience for those children who have a talent and interest in singing and desire an opportunity to sing in a children’s choir. Through their participation, children will gain a greater understanding of how to use their voices in song, sing musically, participate in various musical experiences and have the opportunity to create friendships with others who share their interest in music. The choir is directed by Celia Stockton. Bev Roby is the accompanist.

Tuition for those accepted is $120, and $110 for each additional family member. This includes all rehearsals, supplies, polo shirt and performances. Tuition assistance and payment plans are available.

Returning members do not need to re-audition but must contact Craig VanRenterghem, education director, at with their commitment for the spring semester. Tuition for returning members is $100.
