Art as Activism, an exhibition of artwork that questions and addresses political and social issues, will be on display through Jan. 25 at the Findlay Art League Gallery, 117 W. Crawford St. This exhibit features activist and dissident artists from Cuba, New York, Melbourne, Australia, Mexico, various parts of the U.S. and Findlay. Exhibit chairman Philip Sugden says the artwork in this exhibit is strong and will demand viewers to think and question not just the artwork, but the topics the pieces address. Pictured is a four-page facsimile on velum of The Declaration of Independence from the National Archives in Washington D.C., and porcelain piggy bank created by Sugden titled Soo Wee. An artists reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the art league.
