MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Mount Blanchard Heritage Day Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, featuring classic cars, antique tractors, hit-or-miss engines, vintage bicycles and kiddie cars in the downtown show.

New to the festival are sidewalk chalk artists, hourly antique car races at Island Park, wood carving demonstrations, a presentation about prominent Hancock County residents by the Hancock County Historical Society, a 50/50 raffle and a photo booth with clothing styles from when Mount Blanchard was founded.

A Kimmel’s chicken and pork barbecue will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It includes a half-chicken or pork chop, two homemade sides, roll and beverage. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time at The Food Center or The Hair Stop in Mount Blanchard, or by calling 419-306-3073. A limited amount of dinners will be available the day of the event.

Other highlights include an old-fashioned pie tent and ice cream, a watermelon stand, petting zoo, craft vendors, food vendors and a kids’ carnival at Mount Blanchard United Methodist Church.

All proceeds from the festival go toward beautification projects in town and at the parks.
