FOREST — The Tree Town Festival will return to Gormley Park in Forest from Friday to Sunday, kicked off by the parade and the annual classic car and truck show Friday evening.
Registration for the 15th annual car show will be from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Trophies will be awarded at 8:30.
The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. with lineup at 5:30 at the soccer fields. Opening ceremonies will follow the parade.
An 3-on-3 “Under the Lights” soccer tournament begins at 8 p.m. Friday. The Columbus Blue Jackets Mobile Tour will be at the festival Friday, featuring a Blue Jackets replica locker room, three 60-inch televisions, video games, lounge area, skee-puck game, street hockey and prizes.
The Minor Blues Youth Band will perform from 8-11 p.m. A “Tree Town Idol” karaoke contest begins at 9 p.m.
Registration for the YMCA Tree Town Trot 5K will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Mary and Julia streets, with the run starting at 8.
A 3-on-3 basketball tournament will register at 8 a.m. Saturday, Divisions include ages 9-11, 12-14, 15-18, 6 and younger and open class. The cost is $10 per person with a maximum of four players per team.
There will also be a coed 4-on-4 volleyball tournament registering at 8 a.m. and beginning at 9. The entry fee is $40 per team.
VFW Post 1182 and the Ladies Auxiliary will hold a fishing derby for ages 3-16 at the Gormley Park pond from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Registration for the national kiddie tractor pull begins at 1 p.m., with the pull beginning at 2 p.m.
A Tree Town Kids Got Talent contest will begin at 4 p.m. at the main stage. There will also be a sheriff’s K-9 demonstration from 3-4 p.m., a presentation by comedian/ventriloquist Mike Hemmelgarn from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and cow patty bingo at 5 p.m.
Versions of “Festival Feud” and “Let’s Make a Deal” will begin at 6:30 and 7:30 respectively.
The JoJo McZunk Band will perform from 7-10:30 p.m. Fireworks are planned for 10:30 with a rain date of July 14.
Matt Fore, a comedian and illusionist, will speak at the 14th annual Church in the Park at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Food vendors will be available throughout the festival.
