Collection for the annual Coats for Christmas campaign begins Nov. 19 and will wrap up Nov. 26.

New and gently used coats, and new hats and mittens, will be accepted. All used coats will be cleaned by City Dry Cleaning.

Each year, there is great demand for youth coats, for infants through junior high-aged children. Warm coats are appreciated, as many children walk to school each day. Work coats for men are generally also in high demand, as are larger sized coats for both genders.

Coats in good condition may be donated at City Dry Cleaning, 116 E. Main Cross St., and Findlay City and Hancock County school buildings. Businesses or organizations wishing to be a collection site may pick up a collection box at City Dry Cleaning.

Hats and mittens may be dropped off at the downtown YMCA, 300 E. Lincoln St., through noon Dec. 6. The goal is to provide one new hat and one new pair of mittens/gloves with every coat.

Coats will be distributed in the gymnasium at Glenwood Middle School, 1715 N. Main St. Distribution dates are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7; and 1-3 p.m. Dec. 8. There is no financial restriction for eligibility.
