The Zonta Club of Findlay has announced two scholarships available to area women.
The general scholarship is offered to female, high school seniors who are pursuing further education. To be considered for the general scholarship, applicants must possess a high school diploma prior to August of the granting year; reside or go to school in Findlay/Hancock County; complete a typed, electronic application; and provide a high school transcript and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or someone not related to themselves.
The criteria for selection will include academic achievements, school activities, community service, demonstrated leadership, clearly formulated career goals and financial need.
The number and amount of scholarships is determined annually by the Zonta Club’s scholarship committee and availability of funds.
The club will also offer a one-time $1,000 scholarship to a female, nontraditional student for 2020.
The following criteria will be considered when reviewing applications: applicant did not start college immediately after high school; applicant works part or full time; applicant attends college part or full time; financial need; applicant has dependents other than a spouse; and applicant is a resident of Hancock County or attends college in Hancock County.
