McCOMB — McComb taxpayers will be able to download municipal income tax forms at the village’s website in January, Village Council announced Monday.
Municipal tax forms will no longer be mailed to residents, a savings of $1,500 in postage, according to village representatives.
Paper tax forms still will be available at the municipal building and McComb Public Library.
Council President Gordon Myers, who chairs council’s Finance Committee, said elderly residents can contact the village office to have village tax forms mailed to them.
Separately, a kit has arrived to build an ice skating rink at village park ball diamond No. 3 this winter.
Donations totaling $6,200 paid for the rink.
The Northwestern Water and Sewer District, which operates the village’s water and sewer services, will pay for plastic sheeting to be placed underneath a liner. Boards will be erected around the rink and the liner will be installed, according to Village Administrator Kevin Siferd.
The ice rink is expected to be about 84 feet by 90 feet.
Elsewhere at the park, posts are being replaced at a parking lot and near one of the reservoirs.
The water and sewer district also intends to replace 200 feet of sanitary sewer line along part of Oliver Street. The work will be done in the spring.
Separately, a meeting with area organizations will be held to discuss the Fourth of July fireworks next summer. The meeting is slated for 6 p.m. Monday in the municipal building.
“It’s going to be a brainstorming evening,” Siferd told council.
The village administrator is overseeing the fireworks event after the McComb VFW Ladies Auxiliary said the group could no longer handle it.
