UPPER SANDUSKY — An Upper Sandusky man was injured when he lost control of his pickup truck on an exit ramp off U.S. 23 Sunday afternoon.

The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office said James Racheter, 78, of Upper Sandusky, was driving north on U.S. 23 at 4:46 p.m. when he lost control on the exit ramp for Ohio 199.

His truck went off the right side of the road, striking a ditch and going airborne before coming to rest against a fence, the sheriff’s office reported.

Racheter was taken by Wyandot EMS to Wyandot Memorial Hospital for treatment of incapacitating injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
