COLUMBUS GROVE — A Lima man was taken into custody Monday afternoon after leading authorities on chase that began in Columbus Grove and ended in northern Allen County.
The Columbus Grove Police Department reported that Chief Sean Hiler attempted to stop a Chevrolet pickup truck on West Sycamore Street at 1:24 p.m., but the driver accelerated westbound out of the village. Police said the pickup traveled west before heading south on Ohio 115 and west on U.S. 30, with Columbus Grove and Kalida police officers in pursuit.
According to police, the State Highway Patrol and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office took over the pursuit on U.S. 30. The suspect drove through the city of Delphos and then east on Lincoln Highway before the vehicle was stopped near Leatherwood Road.
According to Columbus Grove police, Timothy Boedicker, 38, of Lima, was arrested and was being held in the Putnam County jail on charges of failure to comply with a police officer, reckless operation and driving under suspension.
No injuries were reported.
