ARLINGTON — Arlington Council on Monday appropriated funds to replace interior and exterior locks at the village municipal building.
Plans call for installing seven keypad locks at a cost not to exceed $5,300.
One benefit of the keypad system is that a person punching into the keypad with a designated number will be registered on a computer located in the building.
Separately, volunteer groups are being sought to help with the village cleanup slated for 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 12.
Like last year, Arlington residents will be allowed to dump certain items at the village park.
“We could use some help,” Councilwoman Marcia Smith said. Service groups are being sought to help with unloading items at the park.
Junk that will not be collected includes household trash, oils and cement.
In other business, council:
- Held a closed executive session to discuss personnel matters.
- Was told the scoreboard is being fixed at the village park.
- Will decide if a village tree that was struck by a motorist on South Main Street will be replaced.
