McCOMB — Village pool repairs and park improvements required McComb Council’s attention Monday.
A leak in a pipe in one water slide area of the swimming pool has been fixed, village officials said.
And a smaller water slide at the pool has been closed while repairs are being discussed. Rusted bolts and cracks on the water chute have been noted.
Village Administrator Kevin Siferd told council that prices are being obtained for replacement parts.
Separately, a new merry-go-round will be installed at the village park today.
Council will decide which park projects might be funded via grant money from the Hancock Park District. Grant applications are due in September.
Separately, Village Council proceeded with long-range plans for upgrading McComb’s storm sewer system.
A storm sewer management plan is being devised that would divide McComb into portions and identify problem areas.
With this plan, council could seek grants, according to Mayor Chuck Latta.
In a related issue, designs are being prepared to renovate a storm sewer on a portion of South Street.
In other business, council:
Will seek details of the village fireworks slated for July.
Agreed to post Heart and Soul community signs at the village limits.
