BASCOM — Hopewell-Loudon School is welcoming a new superintendent.

According to published reports, the school board has hired Jeff Holbrook, who will start Aug. 1.

He will take over from David Alvarado, who left the position to return to the Findlay School District as assistant principal of Findlay High School.

Alvarado served as a middle school principal in the Findlay district for 13 years prior to his arrival at Hopewell-Loudon in August 2016.

Though he was new to leadership at Hopewell-Loudon, Alvarado was a 1989 graduate of the high school.

Holbrook is more of newcomer to the district. He has 19 years of experience in Wynford Local School District.

He was an art teacher before serving as a principal for the last 10 years in Wynford. He was raised in Castalia and graduated from Margaretta High School.

He received his college education at Ashland University.
