CONTINENTAL — An area woman has died from injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle accident northwest of Continental Sunday afternoon, the Lima post of the State Highway Patrol reported.
Cindy R. Adams, 58, of Oakwood, who was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima following the accident, has died from the injuries, the patrol reported Monday.
According to the patrol, Adams was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix east on County Road E at 3:55 p.m. when she stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of County Road 22 before failing to yield and pulling into the intersection where her car was struck by a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Mikayla R. Mayes, 16, of Lexington, Kentucky, which was southbound on County Road 22.
Mayes and two passengers, Michelle Mayes, 46, and McKenzy Mayes, 13, were treated for minor injuries at the scene, the patrol reported.
According to the patrol, Adams was not wearing a safety belt.
Assisting at the scene were the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Putnam County Fire and EMS, Continental Fire and EMS, and R&O Towing.
