The City of Findlay will conduct its annual leaf pickup beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19.

A second leaf pickup has been scheduled for 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3.

City employees will collect leaves that have been placed in biodegradable paper bags at the curb. Plastic bags will not be picked up.

Bagged leaves should be placed by the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the pickup days.

Biodegradable bags are available at local hardware, building supply and some grocery stores.

It is against city law to blow or rake leaves into the street. Residents can contact the Findlay Police Department with complaints.

City residents may also drop off leaves at the green waste site located at 350 W. High St. at no charge. The site is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The site is closed on Sundays, Mondays and holidays.

The site will be closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, and will reopen Nov. 23-24. The site will close for the season on Dec. 8.

The green waste site is intended for residential use only. No contractors are permitted to use the site.

Only tree trimmings, brush, leaves and grass clippings can be dumped in designated areas at the site.
